Housing starts slid in October

U.S. housing starts declined 3.1% in October, with single-family projects falling 6.9% compared to September, according to Census Bureau data. Severe weather, including storms Helene and Milton, drove sharp regional drops in the South and Northeast, offsetting gains in the Midwest and West.
