October retail hiring hit a low not seen since before the pandemic

Despite seasonal hiring announcements reaching their highest levels since 2021, October job additions in retail and transportation fell to their lowest since before the pandemic, a new report shows. Retailers added just 124,700 jobs, while transportation and warehousing saw their weakest October gains since 2019.
