Retail sales for building materials drop 4% in May 2024

Sales for building material and garden equipment retailers fell in May, says the U.S. Census Bureau. The sector reported $48.49 billion, a 4% decline from May 2023’s $50.54 billion. Adjusted sales dropped less than 1% from the previous month.
