Producer prices drop in May, signaling easing inflation



Wholesale price increases fell in May, suggesting easing inflation pressures. The producer price index dropped 0.2% from April to May, driven by a 7.1% decrease in gasoline prices. Annually, wholesale prices rose 2.2%, slightly down from April's 2.3%. Core producer prices remained steady, while wholesale food prices decreased by 0.1%.
