Position: Business Development & Sponsorship Manager
Summary of Role
The RAB's Business Development and Sponsorship Manager will expand our business-to-business partnerships beyond the broadcast community. We will create successful partnerships using a robust platform of current and future opportunities which include industry leadership meetings, national training events, award programs, daily outreach to the industry, plus digital assets with high levels of engagement.
The successful candidate must have relationships beyond the broadcast community. Our expectation is to increase the impact for the RAB into new and emerging areas as we connect over 6500 member-stations and organizations with future and meaningful partnerships.
This is a remote position, working as a part of an essential team who supports the radio broadcast industry. Driving revenue through sponsorships, partnerships, events and other collaborations is the primary role. Building sustainable growth is the expectation, reporting directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities
- Building sustainable growth for the RAB, through the sale of sponsorships, partnerships, events and other business-to-business collaborations.
- Ensure partnership objectives are clearly defined, to maximize successful outcomes as we leverage RAB resources in these coordinated efforts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the current and emerging landscape of RAB partners.
- Research and develop partnerships, looking "beyond broadcast", in connecting those opportunities for future growth.
- Maintain an understanding of current RAB offerings, while providing guidance on new opportunities that the organization should pursue.
- Provide ongoing and accurate updates on business activities including budgeting, forecasting, collection and prospecting.
- Coordinate marketing needs and material support within RAB resources.
- Work collaboratively within the RAB team to achieve mission objectives.
- Ability to travel to events, conferences and meetings for face-to-face interactions with partners and prospects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, business, or related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in sponsorship sales or related roles.
- Ability to impact the RAB on day one.
- Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems.
- Embraces digital disruption, sees opportunities where others don't.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- A track record of creating successful outcomes for partners.
- A hunter mentality driven to succeed, rewarded with uncapped earning potential.
Location
This position is remote; however, the RAB maintains office locations in New York City and Dallas, Texas, which are available to all team members. The expectation is for full participation in virtual or in-person team meetings as planned.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting pay range: $65,000 to $75,000 salary based on experience and qualifications, plus uncapped commission opportunity.
