The 15th Annual ‘Rising Through the Ranks’ Program Dedicated to Support the Advancement of Women in Radio, is Open for Applications

NEW YORK – April 10, 2023 – RAB, Broadcast Music, Inc.® (BMI®) and Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, Inc. (MIW), have announced the dates for the 15th annual Rising Through the Ranks.

The program will begin with one virtual event taking place from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. CT on August 1, prior to the participants meeting in person on August 8 – 10 in Nashville. As in years past, BMI will offer 20 scholarships for this year’s program. The scholarships will cover the cost of the professional development course, which is geared toward fostering and educating the current and emerging female radio managers in broadcast radio.

“For 15 years, BMI has been a proud supporter of Rising Through the Ranks, and along with our partners at RAB and MIW, we applaud the education and exposure it provides the rising female executives who are selected to attend,” said Dan Spears, vice president, industry relations, BMI. “Over the years, we’ve hosted some of the most successful executives in the radio industry who have shared their wisdom and guidance to help these emerging executives become the leaders of tomorrow. We’re looking forward to another inspirational event filled with education, mentorship and networking.”

"Rising Through the Ranks continues to be a foundational part of the professional development of so many women. It is a transformative experience that MIW is so proud to be part of, along with the RAB and BMI. It's also a whole lot of fun," said Ruth Presslaff, MIW board president. "Once again, we encourage women to apply for this wonderful opportunity and stay focused on rising through this industry."

Rising Through the Ranks continues to bring together the rising stars of our industry and further their professional development,” noted Erica Farber, president and chief executive officer, RAB. “From peer-to-peer discussions to speaker presentations, participants will be able to take what they have learned to help propel their careers and aid in the growth of their radio stations and companies.”

This year’s agenda and speaker lineup will be announced at a later date.

Scholarship applications and registration are available on www.rab.com, and will be accepted starting April 10, through 5 p.m. CT on May 19, 2023. Scholarship recipients will be notified of their selection by June 16, 2023. For more information, go to RAB Rising Through the Ranks page here.
