More Americans see religion increasing its influence in U.S.

Thirty-four percent of U.S. adults believe religion is increasing its influence in American life, similar to the 35% measured in December but up from 20% a year ago. The majority of Americans, 59%, continue to say religion is losing its influence on U.S. society, but that is down from 75% a year ago.

U.S. inflation rose slightly last month as grocery prices ticked higher

U.S. inflation picked up a bit last month as food costs rose, though overall inflation remained mostly tame. Consumer prices increased 2.4% in May compared with a year ago, according to a Labor Department report released. That is up from a 2.3% yearly increase in April.
